Day 1Trigrad
Arrival to Trigrad village (230 km form Sofia) where is situated one of the most famous natural phenomenon in the region – the Trigrad Gorge. Wild River is curving amongst steep rocks, elevated over 100 m high! Accommodation, dinner and overnight in a family hotel in the village.
Day 2Trigrad – Chairski lakes hut
After breakfast – meet with the guide to take maps and instructions for trekking (4-5 hours) to Chairski lakes. They are seven beautiful lakes of landslide origin which are declared protected area due to the presence of some rare plants, growing within the peat. Accommodation, barbeque dinner and overnight in Chairski lakes hut.
Day 3Chairski lakes hut – Lednitsata hut
After breakfast – 6-7 hours of trekking to Lednitsata Hut. Meet the guide and the servcie vehicle in the around the middle of the road in Mugla village. Accommodation, dinner and overnight in the hut.
Day 4Lednitsata hut – Perelik Hut
After breakfast – 4-5 hours of trekking to Perelik Hut. The hut is located above the highest peak in Rhodopes mountain – Perelik (2191 m). Accommodation and overnight in the hut.
Day 5Perelik hut – Canyon of the waterfalls – Smolyan Lakes hut
After breakfast – trekking through one of the most picturesque and rich of rare plants itinerary in the Rhodopes – the Canyon of the Waterfalls. This is a 6 km. long reserve with a cascade of waterfalls, with displacement of over 60 m. Head on to the region of Smolayn Lakes. Accommodation, dinner and overnight in the hut. Overall trekking this day is 5-6 hours.
Day 6Smolyan Lakes hut – Snejanka peak – Studenets – Arda
After breakfast – trekking to Snejanka peak (1926 m) above the famous ski resort Pamporovo. Than descent to Studenets area to take mini bus to Arda village. En route visit of Uhlovitsa cave. Accommodation, dinner and overnight in guest houses in Arda village. Overall trekking this day is 4-5 hours.
Day 7Arda – Ardin peak – Arda river springs – Arda
After breakfast – trekking to the peak (1730 m) trough a picturesque beech forest. Arda river sprigs are underneath a century-old beech, where ice cold water is forming the River. Return back to Arda village for dinner and overnight. Overall trekking this day is 6-7 hours.
Optional: picking lunch in the forest and a concert by a local piper during the lunch.
Day 8Arda – Rasilitsa peak – Gorna Arda (Greek border)
After breakfast – trekking via Rasilitsa peak (1410 m) to the Greek border and Gorna Arda village. Return back to Arda village for dinner and overnight. Overall trekking this day is 4 hours.
